Compassion First

“Providing end-to-end, personalized care for those rescued from or at risk of sex trafficking and exploitation in Indonesia”

Compassion First is an nonprofit organization that seeks to prevent sex trafficking and aid sex trafficking survivors in Indonesia. Opening their first shelter in 2010, their main focus lies in three areas: prevention, survivor care, and government collaboration.

CF helps prevent trafficking through community development and transit monitoring. While community centers offer holistic support (including scholarships, entrepreneurship, and events), transit monitoring involves embedding staff in ports to intercept girls before they are trafficked. The CF team also provides personalized, trauma-informed survivor care for girls who have been rescued from sex trafficking in secure 24-7 residential homes and through community-based care for those who have safe homes to return to. Finally, CF partners with local law enforcement, prosecutors, and governmental agencies toward case-managed investigation, intervention, and restoration.

LongArm Malawi

“A place of safety and refuge for orphaned children in the heart of Africa”

Planted in the heart of Malawi, Africa, LongArm Malawi is a nonprofit organization that provides vulnerable, abandoned, and surrendered children their basic human rights and needs.

Their mission is to be a light of redeeming love to those in the community and nearby villages of Lilongwe as well as to the children left to fend for themselves. This includes providing children with necessities such as food, water, and medical attention as well as supporting the local women’s prison by buying supplies and teaching them life skills to use once they get out of prison.

While LongArm’s main goal is family preservation, they hope to be a bridge in bringing children into the loving care of adoptive families when needed. They currently house 17 children (all under the age of four) on a one-acre plot of land and continue to expand their vision for the future of the children of Malawi.
